Getting back into heraldry. The funniest heraldic terms: gules, purpure, bendy sinister, chevronny, lozengy, dancetty, potenty, flory counterflory, flaunches, flasques and voiders, crosses crosslet, rampant reguardant, sejant erect, At Gaze, urinant, hauriant, addorsed, bird bolt, camelopardel, duciper (“a hat of dignity”), fitchy, flesh-pot, flax-breaker, jelopped, undd, papegay, purfled or purflewed, scrog, and of course, animé (which actually means “fire coming out of the mouth and ears of an animal” and not, unfortunately, “in the style of Japanese animation”).
